Vallhyège
Vallhyège is an ambitious hydrogen valley project in Liège, Belgium that aims to accelerate the decarbonization of heavy logistics and transport. The project includes a 15 MW electrolyzer producing over 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, along with distribution infrastructure including 3 hydrogen refueling stations and facilities for both truck and barge refueling. Led by a consortium of 9 Belgian partners including Virya Energy and John Cockerill, Vallhyège will create an integrated ecosystem connecting hydrogen production, distribution and end-users. The project targets a 74% reduction in CO2 emissions and will support the transition of both trucking fleets and inland waterway vessels to zero-emission hydrogen power, with operations planned to begin in 2028.
