Parc d'Hombleux 1

Commissioned in November 2014, the Hombleux 1 wind farm operates 10 MW of Gamesa turbine capacity, marking one of Virya Energy’s (ex-Eurowatt) successful deployments of Spanish turbine technology in the Somme region. The site benefits from the department’s characteristic open plains, which provide excellent wind exposure with consistent flow patterns throughout the year. Gamesa turbines were specifically chosen for their proven track record in similar European agricultural settings and their cost-effective performance profile. Virya Energy’s collaborative engagement with the municipality of Hombleux ensured that the project supported local economic development objectives while contributing to France’s renewable energy transition goals.
